First Week- CHECK

So... first week of practicum is finished and boy did it go by FAST! .....it went by very fast, but I am VERY exhausted ready to keep going!!
This week I just helped out my teacher and doing half lessons. I liked this approach because I was able to work with students during group work and independent work so I was able to get to know and connect with the different students in the class. Taking this time to watch my AT do his lessons and at the same time building a better relationship really helped me gain more confidence for yesterday (Friday) for my first FULL lesson.
I have started the math unit measurement, and my first lesson went okay. The students all participated and worked really well together in my activity I assigned, it was just tough to keep their attention at the end.
I need to work on obtaining their full attention from the very beginning and keeping it. My AT uses a bell which I think is a good idea, I'm going to use this week to find my own unique way (I will keep you updated)! I also need to work on my movement around the class. That was the feedback I received from my AT which I think is most useful, walking around more during lesson is that silent way of putting those certain students back on the right track.
All in all I had a great week! The class is a GREAT group of students who are all really interesting and fun, and I cant wait for the rest of the practicum... I can imagine it can only get better!
Tata for now :)
